You have two options for seeing some great comedy in the city. Various
pubs offer stand up comic nights - just keep you eye posted around the city,
check you Timeout magazine, or visit their site at: www.timeout.co.uk. Prices
at the smaller venues range from £5 to £6 and can be great or bloody
awful.

There are some great Comedy Clubs to check out as well, which tend to be more expensive
(£10 - £15) but the acts tend to be by fairly established comics, so there is less risk of getting
a dud. (Although they are out there!)

The most popular being the Comedy Club (Leicester Square), or the chain of Jongleurs Comedy
Clubs (City, Camden and Clapham.) Acts change on a regular basis - and be sure to book in
advance, you will have no chance of getting in on a Friday night without booking earlier tickets.

The Comedy Club in the city has some great acts, but everyone is seated in a style not dissimilar to
your local picture theatre. Great to get more punters in the door, but lacking that personal touch.

Jongleurs offer a range of table or standing room bookings - and is vastly preferable. Both clubs offer
full bar services and a range of basic meals and snacks.

For real fans, get a cheap flight to Scotland for the world-famous Fringe Festival that occurs every
August, and be prepared for the three week long comic fest!
