New Zealander's in the UK

Pensions

There is a special income support agreement between NZ and the UK.  This includes
retirement pension payments.  This means people who were receiving a pension in the UK
may be eligible for NZ superannuation payments and vice versa.

The agreement is administered by the Department of Social Security in Britain and by the New
Zealand Income Support Service.  To find out more you should visit your local DSS office or write to:

Department of Social Security
Newcastle Benefits Directorate
Overseas Branch
Longbenton
Newcastle Upon Tyne
NE98 1YX

In New Zealand you should contact:

The Manager International Affairs
New Zealand Income Support Service
P O Box 27-178
Wellington
Telephone: 00 64 4 385 0102
Fax: 00 64 4 384 3749

The best way to provide evidence of New Zealand tax contributions (if you have not kept copies
of your tax returns), is to contact the Head Office of the New Zealand Inland Revenue
Department and ask for a summary of your tax returns.  You should supply your full name,
IRD number if known, and the names and addresses of your NZ employers. The address is:-

Manager Taxpayer Services
Inland Revenue Department
P O Box 2198
Wellington
Telephone: 00 64 4 472 1032
Fax: 00 64 4 473 2815
